Retreat description:
A midwinter retreat in movement, deep rest and embodied vitality.
So much of life asks us to organise, anticipate, perform and keep things moving. Even the beginning of a new year can arrive as another demand to improve ourselves.
Come to Your Senses offers a different kind of beginning.
Over four nights at Søsætra, we will step away from the habitual mode of doing and explore what becomes possible when we slow down enough to sense, receive and respond.
Through yoga, guided movement, sound, self-care rituals and time in the warmth of the sauna and pool, you will be invited to reconnect with your body—not as something to manage or improve, but as a source of pleasure, vitality and trustworthy information.
The retreat will unfold gradually. We will begin with grounding and accessible yoga practices, move into deeper rest and receiving, and build towards a guided movement meditation: a journey through rhythm, movement, expression and stillness. No dance experience is needed and there is nothing to perform or get right.
There will also be generous free time to sleep, walk, read, enjoy the pool and sauna, spend time with others or simply be alone.
You will leave with more than the memory of a restful few days. Our intention is that you return home feeling more fully present in yourself—with a clearer sense of what nourishes you, what allows you to feel alive and how you can give those things more room in your everyday life.
No previous yoga, meditation or dance experience is required. All practices will be inclusive and adaptable, allowing each participant to take part according to her own needs.

Day TwoInhabit
Come back to your senses
The first full day develops sensory awareness and a more receptive relationship with the body.
Participants begin with familiar, clearly guided yoga and gradually explore sensation, presence, effort, ease and the body’s quieter signals.

Day ThreeReceive
Allow nourishment and support in
The second full day explores receiving through restorative movement, simple touch, sound, warmth, water, food and rest.
The intention is to experience receiving as an active capacity rather than something passive, indulgent or earned.

Day FourAwaken
Allow vitality and expression to move
The third full day moves from sensing and receiving into greater freedom, rhythm, expression and aliveness.

Retreat description:
Through working with the body, breath and mind, you will learn how to stay with what is actually present. Through the physical practice, you will connect deeply to the body, learning how to listen to it and work together with your body and not against it.
In the breath exercises, you will learn, not only how to breathe properly again, but also how to control and train your breath for greater lung capacity and focus.
Meditation is about training the mind, understanding how it works and how thoughts constantly run wild as you pull yourself back, again and again, into a state of concentration.
The practices you will learn and the discussions we will have, will be companions that you can use to live and live well.
